Donations and Adoption Page

Madonna’s cubs, King Henry and Princess(yet to be named), are now available for adoption. New adoption pack for all nine tigers is now available for £180. Adoption pack for all five tiger cubs is £100.

Here are the current tiger profiles:

King Henry
A King indeed
Madonna’s son, Male
Born on Aug 18, 2008

  • Gregarious and outgoing.
  • Strong willed, audacious and presumptuous
  • Inquisitive

King Henry was born with his sister under completely natural conditions without observation or any human intervention in the Save Chinas Tigers project. Their mother Madonna reared the babies with the usual tiger instincts, hiding them in grass, under trees, in bushes, moving them from time to time. The two cubs were not seen by the projects staff until 10 days after the birth. King Henry was named after King Henry VIII Preparatory School in Coventry England, at which the parents and pupils have raised well over £3000 for Save China’s Tigers during their recent “TIGER WEEK”.

  • Princess (yet to be named)
    The Shy Lady
    Madonna’s daughter, Female
    Born on Aug 18, 2008

  • Timid and easily frightened
  • Playful
  • Strong willed in familiar surroundings

Princess (yet to be named) was born with her brother under completely natural conditions without observation or any human intervention in the Save Chinas Tigers project. She is the only female cub born in Laohu Valley Reserve; she is expected to play an important role in future breeding project.

  • Hulooo
    Everybody’s darling
    Cathay’s First Cub, Male
    Born on Nov 23 2007 at 23.30

  • Good natured and loves people, preferring their company to that of his own kind
  • Lovable and does not hesitate to show his feelings towards the people he loves.
  • Trusting.
  • Exceptionally perceptive.
  • Tremendously gentle when he plays.

Hulooo is the first South China Tiger born outside of China, weighed 1.2 kg at birth. He is very playful, especially when he has playmates around. Hulooo gets his name from a naming competition, which has collected over 7000 different names with love and wishes from all over the world. more

  • JenB
    The chancer
Cathay’s Son from Second litter, Male
    Born on March 30th 2008

  • Always pushes the boundaries
  • Mummy’s boy
  • Courageous/ daring
  • Wilful

JenB was named after “Jennifer Bone”, a very generous lady who had a great love for cats. Read more about the story.

  • Coco
    The Adventurer and Gentleman.
Cathay’s Son from Second litter, Male
    Born on March 30th 2008

  • Extremely curious
  • Self-contained character that is just as happy on his own as with his family’s company and is more than capable of amusing himself.
  • Adventurous.
  • Short tempered.
  • Timid in strange conditions

Coco has been given the name in a contest sponsored by Asian Tigers Group. Coco is derived from the Spanish word ‘Socorro’, meaning “help” or “relief to those in distress” - all too appropriate for a little tiger so important to the future of his species. more

  • Cathay
    The True Princess

Mother of Hulooo, JenB and Coco

  • Single-minded to love, jealousy
  • Brave, Cautious, a good hunter and fighter
  • Generous on food
  • Care for other tigers
  • A caring, responsible, and tender mother to her cubs

Cathay arrived at the Laohu Valley reserve in September 2003 after a long journey from China. Cathay is our most playful tiger. She loves to play either with toys (the football is her favourite) or other tigers. Cathay also loves water and can often be found lying or playing in their drinking trough.

  • Madonna
    A Cunning Lady

Mother of King Henry and Princess

  • Charming, elegant, lovely; hates strangers and often threatens them
  • Loves playing, invented a lot of game, good at climbing trees; flirtatious; needs company so much that rather stoop to compromise sometimes
  • likes to assume great airs; elusory
  • Has patience to hunt, but rather asks others to do the hard job.

Madonna is the cutest tiger and one of the staff’s favourites. When she arrived at Laohu Valley in November 2004 she was in pain (due to a broken tooth) and severely dehydrated, leading to a natural shyness. Even though she is the smallest, she is definitely the bravest. Recently Madonna was found to be successfully hunting entirely on her own, proving that she is not only cute, but also a really ferocious tiger too!

  • TigerWoods
    A Gluttonous Peacemaker

    Father of all cubs

  • Gluttonous, with no eating manners at all, love to play with his food
  • Simple and honest, doesn’t like to fight; often be beaten, act slow and often be hit before he touches others
  • A lech who doesn’t have confidence to make it right!
  • Most lovely and cute, likes showing off in front of the camera

TigerWoods is the clown out of the three of tigers and has certain arrogance about him. TigerWoods loves attention and whenever there are any film crews around he has a habit of playing 'cute', rolling onto his back and looking up at you with his big brown eyes.

  • 327
    An Androcentrism from the City

  • A typical zoo tiger: once the paw touched grass he would swing it for a long time; not used to the tough ground; love his cage; like to play with people and stand up on his hind legs like people.
  • Have strong wills and stubborn, sometimes did stupid things because of that.
  • Vocalize, can made different kind of strange sound; be able to complain with his sound; make a sound like hyena.
  • Greedy and selfish on food

327 has come over from China with the task of mating with Cathay. 327 is of good health and has enjoyed settling in at the Laohu Valley Reserve. We have good reason to be hopeful that 327 will father a number of cubs in the future and is making good progress in his new home.
