TigerWoods gets a hiding, JenB is shown who’s boss and TW and Cathay bury the hatchet
One midweek afternoon she was hovering around the annex’s gate and TW was hanging around his gate and thinking that I was doing them a favour, took the opportunity to put them together. They both stood in the doorway chuffing at one another and rubbing heads. Cathay patted him on the head, he patted her on the head and she nibbled on his front left leg. He then turned around and walked back into the annex and Cathay followed him in. He turned around and the next moment Cathay advanced menacingly on him, forcing him inexorably into the corner at the gate to his camp. There they growled at one another and TW took a swipe at her. She reared up on her hind legs with a roar but did nothing. TW took another swipe at her and this time she reacted. Giving him a quick left and a right box to the ears – he reared up and clawed her face and she gave him another hiding; leaving a scratch on his nose. As soon as he could he took up a submissive position and Cathay left him to make her way into Catkins Camp. He followed and she again turned on him and he once again assumed his submissive attitude. As soon as she turned her back he dashed past her into Catkins but Cathay didn’t fancy having him there and advanced on him again. He turned around and allowed himself to be persuaded back into the annex and from there back into his camp. After I had closed the gate on him Cathay returned to the gate and they once again chuffed themselves silly at one another.
A couple of days later I tried again. Armed with a fire extinguisher and butterflies in my stomach I inched the gate open unleashing a cacophony of chuffs from both of them. TW sidled around her into Catkins and she let him, chuffing the whole time. He was no sooner in the camp when she patted his legs and nibbled his neck and ears and had a sniff under his tail but when he tried to return the favour she glared at him and forced him to back-up. As soon as he was inches away from the trip wire she stopped and he cowered with his butt in the air and his body twisted so that his left shoulder was on the ground and waved a foot in the air in capitulation. Satisfied that she had made her point she moved off allowing him to explore. She then lay down at the Quarantine Camp’s fence as though she was the camp’s sole occupant.
Coco and JenB were lying in the middle of the Mini Camp. As I drew to a halt Coco came over to the fence and hung around for a little while before making his way back to his brother. JenB glanced up and found Coco metres away glowering at him menacingly. JenB stood up in readiness for the onslaught and Coco advanced. The pair then held an impromptu stand-up boxing match come play-fight with BIG BOSS status as the prize. They stood up on their hind legs and whacked each other across the face (tit for tat). They then bounced around some and again Coco advanced with his ears pulled down flat and an ominous gleam in his eye. JenB recognised trouble when he saw it and lay down leaving Coco to walk in stiff-legged circles. His claim to alpha male importance successfully staked and defended Coco lay down at the fence.
